Hello and welcome to Two For You. So you may wonder what we’re doing out here on snowshoes and how this pertains to you
as a community leader. So you might already know or many of us know right,
the physical benefits of exercising. It’s good for our hearts. It’s good for our
lungs, all the kind of physical things that happening.
But research is also really sharing how it’s good for our mental health as well.
Right, Kelly McGonigal writes about the benefits of exercise and what she notes
is that one of the benefits you have when you exercise is that you have the
release of endocannabinoids. It’s a fun word. But what it does it basically
mellows you out and by mellowing you out and reducing your stress level it opens
you up to more relationships and better connections with others. Yeah, so this
month when you’re feeling stressed and you’re like you know I don’t really know
about, I don’t like feel like going for it, I
you know I don’t want to go for that long run or go for a snowshoe. Get out
there give it a try and add a friend. Right, so it makes us feel more connected
and can increase our overall well-being. This month, go for it. Create that trust,
the belonging, the connection. Do it with a friend
